Hey There I'm Francesca...
I'm the face behind the business Francesca Lobb Jewellery and I have been creating jewellery and growing my independent business from my home studio in Halifax, West Yorkshire since I graduated from Manchester School of Art in 2016. I continue to create and develop my main collection of work which you can explore on my Collections page and I also offer bespoke commissions and repair and alteration services, including an ever growing popular choice to recycle your own gold and existing jewellery to transform it into something new!
A Little About Me and My Work
I've always had an interest in the arts and although when I went off to university I was still unsure of which creative path I would go down I knew I wanted to make! I chose to study Three Dimensional Design at Manchester School of Art due to its diverse programme where I could turn my hand to a bit of everything; making beautiful hand thrown pots in the ceramic studios, furniture in the wood department and even glassblowing in the hot glass studio but by the time I reached my final year I found myself drawn to the jewellers workbench in the metal workshop each day! That's where my love for making jewellery and small scale objects really began to shape into my passion and not long after graduating I set up my own jewellery workbench in my home studio (with a little help from my dad adapting an old computer desk!)
If I'm not at the bench in my home studio you can find me in a number of other spots, but trust me when I say I am always surrounded by jewellery. If it isn't my own work bench I'll be on the bench at Selina Campbell Jewellery in Manchester where I also work as the main bench jewellery creating bespoke jewellery for a range of clients. Alongside this I also keep my Sundays bedazzled by working at Kath Libbert Jewellery Gallery in Saltaire where I work selling lots of gorgeous handcrafted contemporary jewellery direct to our customers as well as offering bespoke commissions and repair and alterations service that I provide for the gallery.
I love meeting new customers and clients and introducing them to my collections and I often take part in a number of Maker's Fairs and Events throughout the year where you can see my collections in person and chat to me personally. If you would like to keep up to date with any upcoming shows and events make sure to follow me on social media as that's where my most up to date info will be and hopefully I will get to meet you at an event some time very soon!
